By Felicia DeInnocentiis

InsideImage_March19GPR_GlobalForumGlobal payroll professionals from around the world can benefit from the Global Payroll Management Institute’s (GPMI) 4th Annual Global Payroll Management Forum, 14-18 May in Long Beach, California, in conjunction with the American Payroll Association’s (APA) 37th Annual Congress. Take a peek at the 2019 brochure for this year’s educational workshops, featured keynote speakers, and more.

Workshops, Presentations

Now more than ever, global payroll is a rapidly evolving field that needs to keep up with the growing complexities of technology, businesses, and international laws. Returning and new attendees can find four and a half days’ worth of new workshops and educational tracks covering country-specific global payroll, expatriate payroll, thought leadership, and more.

Attendees can also sit in on special presentations, including:

  • “Convergence, Distribution, and Opportunity: How Existing Industries Will Be Disrupted and New, Trillion-dollar Industries Will Emerge” by Vivek Wadhwa
  • “Say What? Communicating Around the World” by Jason Low, C.P.S, Head of The Association of Payroll Specialists (TAPS) and Tim Kelsey, MCIPP, AIPA, Owner, Kelsey Payroll Services

Networking Opportunities

In addition to receiving important international payroll updates and education, attendees can also take advantage of the opportunity to network with more than 2,000 fellow professionals from around the globe who work not only in global payroll, but also in accounts payable, finance, human resources, and benefits.

“The Global Payroll Management Forum is an unparalleled opportunity to network with payroll professionals, share knowledge and ideas, and learn about new technology and best practices,” said Nicole Hoffert, CPP, VP Tax Manager of Global Payroll Services—Regulatory Specialties with Wells Fargo. “This event goes beyond the classroom to offer information from vendors, motivational speakers, and panel discussions led by industry experts.”

Last Year’s Success

During last May’s 36th Annual Congress in National Harbor, Maryland, GPMI held its 3rd Annual Forum, which attracted payroll professionals from all over the world. Along with more than 30 workshops and the Global Payroll Pavilion, the forum recognized its first recipient of the GPMI Global Vision Award, Max van der Klis-Busink, RPP, of the Netherlands.

This year, attendees can return to more than 30 workshops, 11 dedicated to country-specific topics including payroll in Brazil, France, and South Africa. Returning again is the Leadership Excellence Series presented by Shirley Davis, Ph.D., CSP, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, and the Payroll Expo where attendees can network with vendors and other payroll professionals.
