By Kiko Martinez

InsideImage_May19GPR_GPMIDublinIrelandChptFeatureThe Global Payroll Management Institute (GPMI) recently launched its second international chapter and its first in Europe. The unveiling of the GPMI Dublin Chapter in Ireland took place in late March at the Autodesk offices in the city’s tech sector.

“We’re elated to add another chapter to our GPMI family and look forward to seeing the chapter grow in the coming months and years,” said Mary Holland, CPP, Global Director, Strategy, Development, and Training for GPMI. “A chapter like this will create so many opportunities for payroll professionals in Ireland to share their knowledge with their colleagues and vice versa.”

Payslip Marketing Director Aoife Flynn said the GPMI Dublin Chapter will help create opportunities for global payroll professionals in Ireland to become successful leaders in their field.

“The goals of the chapter are for members to share best practices, network, and identify common payroll challenges and contribute resolutions,” Flynn said.

Fidelma McGuirk, Founder and CEO of Payslip, is the first GPMI Dublin Chapter President. She has more than 18 years of experience in international business and works in Westport, Ireland, an entrepreneurial town known locally as Silicon West.

“We hope to provide a platform where members can be educated, educate others, network, and have some fun along the way,” McGuirk said.

Currently, the Dublin Chapter has more than 50 members who are global payroll professionals working for leading multi-national companies across Ireland. Along with McGuirk serving as Chapter President, Lisa Mongey, Employment Tax Senior Manager at Autodesk, will serve as Secretary, and Jennifer Ross, Global Payroll Specialist at Airbus, will serve as Treasurer.

“It is very important for us to have a platform where global payroll professionals can share their wisdom and challenges and for us all to have the opportunity to learn from each other’s vast experiences,” Mongey said.

The GPMI Dublin Chapter is open to all GPMI subscribers who work in payroll and global payroll, including payroll leaders, managers, practitioners, researchers, and technology experts.
