EU Approves ADP’s Binding Corporate Rules for GDPR
ADP has received approval from the 28 European Union (EU) data protection authorities to implement Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs) as both a data processor and data controller as part of the pending General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This approval means that ADP will implement the highest standards of global data protection both as a processor of clients’ data and as a data controller for the personal data of its employees and other business associates.
ADP President and CEO Carlos Rodriguez said that by adopting BCRs, ADP will help its clients meet the highest standards expected by the EU, provide solutions that support multinational business needs, and offer an extra level of governance over the protection of their data. He added that implementing BCRs illustrates ADP’s commitment to protect personal data in accordance with the standards required in the EU, regardless of where the European data is processed, accessed, or hosted.

Paychex Acquires Lessor Group
Paychex, Inc., a provider of integrated human capital management (HCM) solutions for small to medium-sized businesses, announced the acquisition of Lessor Group, a provider of payroll and HCM software solutions headquartered in Denmark and serving clients in Northern Europe.
Lessor provides services under two models—a software-as-a-service and on-premise suite through its Lessor platform and Microsoft Dynamics, and a do-it-yourself, cloud-based platform branded for Denmark, Germany, Norway, and Sweden.
Paychex President and CEO Martin Mucci said Paychex has been looking to expand in European countries beyond its Germany operation. He considers the acquisition to give Paychex significant client and revenue growth opportunities and value for business owners, making it easier for them to be efficient and compliant.
